

Norvasc
A tricyclic antidepressant with a relatively short latency period. Drug Uses
Norvasc is an oral medicine with an antianginal and antihypertensive action. Norvasc is used to lower high blood pressure and to treat coronary artery diseases in children aged above 6 years and adults.
Norvasc tablets demonstrate the efficacy in the treatment of:
- symptoms of chronic stable angina;
- mild to moderate essential hypertension;
- confirmed or suspected vasospastic angina (Prinzmetal angina);
Norvasc is proved to significantly reduce the risk of fatal and nonfatal cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events, including the risk of:
- primarily strokes
- myocardial infarctions
- coronary revascularization
- hospitalization due to angina pectoris
The maximum recommended dose of Norvasc to treat hypertension or angina pectoris in adults is 10mg per day. Children from 6 to 17 years are recommended to take no more than one dose of Norvasc 5mg per day.
Missed Dose
In case you’ve forgotten to take a dose of Norvasc, take a tablet as soon as possible, if the next prescribed dose should be taken in 12 hours. Do not use two doses of this antihypertensive-antianginal agent at one time or close to each other. If it is almost time for the next prescribed dose of Norvasc, skip a missed tablet and return to your usual treatment regimen.

Norvasc can be safely used in combination with other antianginal and antihypertensive agents that have different mechanisms of action and are related to different pharmacologic groups (including, beta-blocking agents, thiazide diuretics, longacting nitrates, angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors, and sublingual nitroglycerin).
Storage

Warnings
